I would rather pick a gold planet just because of how good gold is of a metal

  2. Miss Sunshine

Is it possible to be pregnant in space and what happenes if a baby is born in space? Is there any studies on that? And thank you for all your wonderful videos. ๐Ÿ˜Šโค๏ธ

Recipe for a Death Star. One star. One massive lense. One diamond planet.

  9. irock ireckon

Can commits and asteroids have gold and diamond in them or rubies or sapphires and can the moon have diamonds and gold on it

  10. Ryan A

So any silicon based intelligent lifeform (coming from one of these planets) also probably has diamond armor. Great. Blinged out Terminators is exactly how I pictured first contact with a silicon-based lifeform lol

  12. Adymn Sani

a diamond planet collides with an oxygen planet and presto, a Carbon Dioxide planet

  13. kris catlin

Who are the trolls that disliked this video?

  15. Bruh Mania

all the diamond planets in the galaxy don’t match the amount the DeBeers hoard to create a false sense of rarity and value

  16. Mark Thomas

Let’s hope there’s a gooey chocolate center too

  17. Boris Be loud us

Planet Jenson? What about Planet Joules? Jewels contain some energy

  18. untouchable360x

This is something we already know. Diamonds are already abundant on Earth. DeBeers controls the supply of diamonds to the market.

  19. John Becker

    Awesome Anton! Awesome!!

  20. Jason Hagensen

I thought our planet didn’t get oxygen until micro organisms started making it as waste.

  21. Emrvld

    Every minors dream.

  22. Alphonso Frett

    Thanks again for sharing

  23. astronomers are lame, laz

chemical composition of the sun by a percent
    hydrogen 73%
    helium 25%

    oxygen 0,80%
    carbon 0,36%
    iron 0,16%

so, anton is right there is more oxygen than carbon despite oxygen is a heavier element than carbon, da fck?

  24. Dok Nomis

Tectonic plate activity may be possible due to elasticity from tidal heating or something or I don’t know what.

  25. Thetinebroken

How in the hell are we so confident

  26. AlvinWins

That’s what I’m talking about “Space Bling”. Please do more Blings.

Separation by centrifugal force. Da. Well vaccum, specific gravity, quantity and something or I don’t know what.

Life on a diamond planet.. can’t help but think of the crystalline entity from star trek.

  31. Ellison Hamilton

    Mostly oxygen huh?
Good! Breathing air is far less painful than breathing diamonds.

    Thanks Anton.

  32. Martyn Hollinshead

    woohoo its that time

So we could get a diamond interstellar visitor at some point?

  34. Domino Diamond

    Mr anton
Can you explain why inner core is solid while being surrounded by liquid outer core hot enough to melt anything
    Annoying puzzle

  42. Osmosis Jones

Mars doesn’t have enough atmospheric pressure for liquid water . but if a planet has so much water vapor that water it self ad pressure. Plus water protects against solar radiation. Inc in the upper atmosphere. Could protected against solar radiation and keep more of mars warm enough for liquid water would water vapor adding green house affect

  43. gingerbreadprime23

If u think about it trees and dirt relative to the universe is more rare then diamonds

  44. Gokhan Sayram

Shine on you crazy diamond :)

  45. nyyotam

So, the solar system was created by a type 1a supernova?

Diamonds are difficult to bend but are very brittle like glass on the cleavage points

  56. Brexit Refugee

โ€œDiamonds are Forever,โ€ while an expression made famous by Ian Flemingโ€™s James Bond novel, was actually an advertising slogan of De Beers the diamond mining company to sell diamonds as wedding rings to western brides.

    What if…
A billion years ago there was a huge, world shattering impact of two diamond planets, and next week the remnants found their way here…
    And it starts raining diamonds!

I really admire your massive knowledge.

A probe to explore a diamond planet would best be called “Lucy”. Why? Because, Lucy in the sky with diamonds.

  68. xx7secondsxx

Bring me the Horizon sang “Diamonds aren’t forever”๐Ÿค˜๐ŸŽธ๐Ÿค˜๐ŸŽธ๐Ÿค˜

  69. Robert Lee

well, at least we all know where De Beers is going to go, when they can sponsor the first interstellar flight ๐Ÿคฃ
just wondering. is there a minimum size / typical size of these planets before they start to make diamonds?
(and I suspect the total mass of diamonds on earth is probably super small, like 0.000001%)

  70. RDE Lutherie

That would make a great wedding ring! (<:

  71. mark findlay

    Debeers down voted this video!

  72. KNO

ah the meme with the impostor of the vent that says that in the entirety of the universe wood is certainly more rare than diamond is probably true, and organic life even more rare.

  73. Dx Mx

In one of the sequels to 2001, Arthur C Clarke wrote about Jupiter having a diamond core the size of Earth.

  74. Meegs Tomtom

  78. Oat lord

Which Arthur C Clarke book was it that a mount everest sized diamond came out jupiter? 3001 or something?

  79. Yezpahr

Every Kardashian ever: I want **THAT** diamond on my ring.

  80. Silas Dense

    Exotic planets are constantly surprising.
    Thanks Anton.
Looking forward to your next video.

Jared is opening a store there. (Diamond ring retailer).

  82. Swirvin' Birds

DeBeers quickly builds a spacecraft…. Gotta nuke it from orbit!

  83. Joe Gardina

The value of diamonds in another star system that we have no chance of visiting ever on a planet that we have no chance of landing on ever, is very low. But it is interesting to consider.

  84. Back to the Future

    How many carats is it?

  93. Dwight Alexander

So if there are loads of planets consisting of diamond as its core or on its surface, would that make breathable oxygen more rarer than diamonds?
And if so, we better start putting air in a bag, so our descendants can sell it to galactical aliens who haven’t got this rare gas particle in their planet once we become a type 3 civilization

  94. Steven Perry

So happy, nice and early, we love Anton, he’s a diamond too.

  95. Duchinsmickle

You should do a Halloween planet episode where you talk about the darkest or creepiest planets.

  96. 7 Sided Mint

Diamond planet. The place where dirt would be extremely rare and very valuable.

  97. tessie

You consumers believe the jewellery shops when they say diamonds are rare and valuable. Biggest con in the 20th century.

  98. Z Stoner

The stock trades for Diamonds are gonna crash after hearing this news.

  99. Rincemind

As a Trekkie I would expect life on such crystalline planets to be some version of silicoid Hortas.

But whether or not any form of life exists on such planets, the conditions on the surface are fascinating for sure.
