“We thought it was already done, but it wasn’t”
    “We think it’s done now”
ok, so we don’t know anything still.

  2. Nicholas Shanks

“Which, if printed, would create a really large book” 😂😂🤣

  3. Deacon Black [The Black D

I really miss your “What da Math” intro :) <3

  4. NC Farmer

    Thank you for the video.

  5. Karen Simons

,thank you, Anton! Love how you make this understandable. Appreciate your reports!

  6. your wife's boyfriend

we’re always evolving, the human genome is never complete….

  7. any one of us

If I showed everyone a picture of whats in my jeans I’d be in a lot of trouble!

  8. DeepQuake9

Omg. Use my genome not a ‘mole’ this will be a new video soon I’d think. Thanks Anton

  10. Mark Higgins

I always thought there were too many bass players.

  11. Peacocks & Polar Bears

Mapping the genome is great, the ability to interpret it is an entirely different thing.

    Thank you Anton very interesting

  13. KiLLA CAiN

    This is great!

  14. Elijah Aitaok

Now we begin experiments for genetic catgirls and dogboys along with cybernetic and mechanic augmentations

  15. Sir Turtle

Having known about the genome project for 20 years at least this was nice to see.

  25. Jim Hofoss

So, in a nutshell, scientists still don’t know what it means.

  26. Madao

now the question is, what can we DO with this completed knowledge? :D

  27. sohrab roshan

  28. JT Marino

Anton: “For ethical reasons, they did not use DNA from a normal person”
Me: And this is why we can’t have nice things. 🙄

  29. R J

Wow, the thoughts that just flooded my mind on the telomere (aging) advancements that are possible now that we have the complete sequencing. We may have the key to immortality now folks!

  30. Christian Glitz

hey i just want to say thank you at 25 im learning more from you than i have from any schooling I’ve received <3 much love and keep up the great work

  31. Its Lexol Baby

Bro there is literally nobody else I know as consistent as Anton

  32. Dillinger

This is great! Maybe we’ll finally learn which genes are responsible for making persons wonderful 😊

  33. Tim Patterson

Anton makes me feel calm no matter what he talks about. I bet he was a great teacher.

This just happened? I swear they were almost done like, 15 years ago

  39. Emöke

Ok when I saw the title, I was thinking for some seconds I am having the mandela effect and switched realities. But glad you, explained it later.

  40. PsyintZ

This is great! I’m usually more nervous when someone finds out what’s inside my genes.

  41. Mohib Ahmad

I really enjoy your video content 🔥🔥
Keep up this amazing work 👍👍👍

  42. Cyotis

So now the movie “Gattaca” can finally be realized!

  43. CB Legacy

So does this mean they only need my coffee cup to clone me?

  44. Gav Asia Robinssson

Now I feel cheated. I really thought the mapping was done.

  45. B3Gabriel

The scientists finally completed all assassin’s creed games, wonderful

  46. Brian H

    Wow, that’s awesome.

  47. 88cameras

It’s summertime, lets try and advocate shorts please.
    I’ll see myself out…

    Man you rock! Thanks.

  66. Enevitable Paradox

Hey we threw that party already, so good job but no cake this time.

  67. Conner Cox

I’ll be back in 6-12 months when scientist discover that they didn’t actually sequence 100% of it, as usual.

  68. ZeroFu*ksGiven

Wow, I thought this had been completed like over 10 years ago!

  69. LateNightwithSirDuke

Thanks Anton, my dumbass wouldnt have ever known about this without you ❤

I thought they already did this, maybe it was map not sequence.

  71. S. Kowalchuk

2:55 – they’ve discovered that human dna looks exactly like christmas lights.

  72. SacredSteeler

Guess it’s time to call Solid Snake

  73. NovaLand

“And now we have a full picture of everything inside our jeans” – bwhahaha, had that when I got my first camera!

  74. Pastmasterdan

Protein folding is an interesting topic

  75. Paul Sandberg

i thought the human genome had been almost entirely sequenced over 10 years ago.

  76. Jeff LaPorte

When is this going to make me younger and thinner?

  77. Stanimir Borov3

cant wait to watch this when i wake up run my 15km n come back with some food n start playing league n watch this meanwhile

  78. seldomseen68

I remember when they referred to it as “Junk DNA”.

  79. ice 9

Actually the HGP started in the late 1980’s. I was part of one of the first teams.

  80. OFBC

And to think, i was bored? Thank you Anton for sparking a fire i did not know went out.

  81. PolySomething

So THAT’S what all these ancestry DNA tests were really for.

  82. OFBC

The whole Anton Army Clone, is a good idea.

  83. Skaatje

Anton looking all fresh and wonderfull with that new haircut! 💚

  84. Lazy1Lou

One thing I´ve learned, all the findings they do, releases new questions.

  85. macrograms

whenever i think about how the individual pieces of DNA work, i hear ‘extraordinary machine’ [fiona apple] in my head. is that weird? :P

  86. aron canapa

Anton you gotta do a video about that new quantum microscope

  87. Things With Strings

I wish you had talked about what this can potentially be used for.

  88. Jeshwa

  89. James Isherwood

Great video! Although, saying that the bases code for exactly 19969 proteins isn’t exactly true because of a process called splicing which increases diversity. But that’s kinda a nit pick.

  90. Tom Schmidt

Interesting, I had not realized the entire genome had not yet been sequenced.

  91. Sam Harper

That is awesome! Now we can start engineering Augments.

  92. Jedi Knight & friend to C

0:50 Something tells me JJ Abrams wasn’t involved with this, he can’t even map out a trilogy of movies

  93. andrew cobb

I’m reminded of putting a piano through a letterbox..

  94. Rick Lewis

Science education is in your DNA Anton. Great lesson today!

  95. gh0s7sama

Now if we can just figure out which gene mutation causes people to watch Friends.

  96. Farrier

They didn’t do it with an actual human being? Sounds to me a bit like trying to paint a landscape, in a studio, using only an Ordnance Survey map.

  97. Ezra Steinberg

Now we should sequence Anton’s genome to see what makes him such a wonderful person! 😇💚🤸‍♂️

  98. Roy Anders

Wonderful Anton, don’t forget to take a break every now and again!

  99. Matty M

Stock image of scientists has unnecessary JJ ABRAMS cameo 🤣

  100. Finn 020

I love this channel. really humbling watching some of these video’s, and just appreciate how beautiful life is and the time we live in.
